Health Association Nova Scotia
Health Association Nova Scotia is a membership driven association of health and community services organizations spanning the full health continuum in Nova Scotia. Established in 1960, we have grown to offer a variety of services to 132 members across the province.
Most Health Association programs and services operate on a fee-for-service basis, allowing members to choose the services that will trulymeet their individual needs. Main services include Group Benefits Solutions, Clinical Engineering Services, Public Affairs and Communications, Labour Relations and Salary Administration, Organizational Development, Policy, Planning & Decision Support, and a pension plan.
Specifically, Health Association represents 80 long-term care facilities which are operated by over 50 organizations.
The Health Association, through the Policy, Planning & Decision Support team, houses and supports the Continuing Care Council. The Council is made up of 14 continuing care representatives from across the province, eight of which come from long-term care (other members come from home care/support and residential/rehabilitation facilities). The Council is a respected body that serves to advise on issues related to continuing care and advocate on behalf of the sector.
